Faith in Action: A Field Trip for Housing Justice- Nov 23

Join us for a special field trip to the Nehemiah Spring Creek Houses in East New York—one of New York City’s most inspiring stories of faith-rooted community organizing and affordable housing.
Developed through decades of persistent organizing by East Brooklyn Congregations (part of Metro IAF), the Nehemiah homes stand as a powerful example of what can happen when churches and local residents unite to demand justice, dignity, and opportunity for working families. Read more about this project here: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/nehemiah-making-the-american-dream-possible-for-first-time-homeowners/
During this visit, participants will:
• Hear from community leaders whose lives have been transformed by the Nehemiah vision.
• Learn how faith communities played a vital role in winning affordable housing and neighborhood renewal.
• See firsthand what long-term, people-powered organizing can build—clean streets, thriving families, and a community shaped by hope and perseverance.
This trip is open to all church members and friends who want to deepen their understanding of housing justice and explore how faith can move us from compassion to collective action.
