Rev. Jim Keat is the Minister of Digital Worship & Education at The Riverside Church.
In this role he helps every ministry area of the church explore ways to utilize digital platforms to share online content and cultivate online community. He focuses on the ways Riverside’s online community can be more connected and engaged, allowing us to thrive as one church from wherever we are.
Rev. Jim also coordinates various “digital first” aspects of Riverside’s ministry, from Virtual Coffee Hour to original video and audio content and more. You can often see Rev. Keat in the live chat during Sunday morning worship, hear him talking about the upcoming lectionary passage with Rev. Adriene Thorne on The Word Made Fresh, or find him dreaming of ways that digital platforms can continue to deepen our connection as a community and our spiritual formation.
Previously he served as the Associate Minister of Education at Middle Collegiate Church, a Product Designer at Sparkhouse/Augsburg Fortress, and the Middle School Program + Content Pastor at Mars Hill Bible Church. He received his M.Div. from Western Theological Seminary where he received The Faculty Award for Advocacy in Racial Ethnic Reconciliation and The President’s Community Life Award.
Rev. Jim enjoys spending time with his wife, Chelsea, their sons, Loren and Kai, and their three cats, Whitman, Wendell, and Harris. When the weather is warm they enjoy visiting a new state park in their Airstream and no matter what the weather he enjoys going out for a long run.
