A supportive, caring community of older adults. The purpose of the Tower League is to foster fellowship, educational opportunities, social activities, outreach, and spiritual growth for members and friends of The Riverside Church. On Thursdays, from mid-September to mid-June, there are activities, including exercise, Bible Study, a monthly lunch and special programs. Contact Rev. The Communion Ministry faithfully prepares and serves Communion for worship on the first Sunday of each month and other special liturgical services throughout the year. This ministry assists the clergy in distributing the bread and the cup during service. They help create a welcoming atmosphere and ensure that everyone is served with reverence and care. The preparation team is responsible for setting up the Communion elements, including the bread and the cup. They ensure that everything is in place for a seamless service. The Usher Ministry has provided hospitality to all who enter The Riverside Church for more than 90 years. The role of a church usher is to help our first-time guests, repeat visitors and members experience the joy and sacredness of our worship service. They greet people in a warm way that makes them feel good about their presence in Church. They serve at Riverside by volunteering their time and talents on Sundays and many other events.
