Riverside Archives Oral History with Jay Alan Kernis
In collaboration with the Communications department, the Archives have launched an Oral History Project, which aims to document the history of The Riverside Church and its ministries, programs, leadership, and community. The project produces carefully planned and researched interviews that are accessible by video and audio recordings and transcriptions. Edited clips of the first interview are now live on YouTube and the full interview will soon be available on the Digital Archive.
Jay Alan Kernis, an American journalist whose career included NPR and CBS News work. Kernis served as a summer intern in New York City at the Riverside Church’s WRVR radio station for five years, beginning in 1969. His oral history details his experiences working as an intern at WRVR and its impact on his career as a journalist. Kernis is originally from New Jersey and lives in New York City.
