Solidarity Skills and Strategies Training Day

Saturday, March 22 | 10:00 am | Judson Church

This free event is for everyone—whether you’re new or experienced—because these skills are vital to our collective power. We’re here to build, design, and strategize together, not just react to what we’re facing.

This practical, activist-rooted day of trainings has been coordinated by autonomous organizers and change-makersworking in mutual aid, community care, immigration justice, housing rights, and climate action.

Please RSVP to help us prepare, set up our space, and implement safety measures!

Multifaith Mondays: Moral Witness for Democracy

Mondays | 5:30pm – 6:00pm | Columbus Circle

Join Us for Weekly Vigils at Columbus Circle
Mondays | 5:30–6:00 PM
(Gather at the USS Maine Statue, SW corner of Central Park)

Multifaith Monday Vigils create a sacred space for collective lament, prophetic resistance, and moral clarity in a time of deep division. If nothing else, we can stand together, bear witness, and commit to justice—even when the path is uncertain.

As M. Gessen reminds us, “Autocratic power requires the degradation of moral authority.” By gathering, we choose to reinforce and strengthen moral authority, countering isolation and overwhelm.

We look forward to standing with you.

Screening of The Arrivals
Tuesday, March 25 | 6:00pm | location below

Tue, Mar 25, 6:00 PM @ Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan (L2 Auditorium)

Screening followed by Q&A.

Presented in partnership with D3 Open Arms, The Interfaith Center of New York, Mañana Otro Día, New York Jewish Agenda, SAJ, The Shul of New York, St. Paul & St. Andrew United Methodist Church, The Synagogue Coalition on the Refugee and Immigration Crisis, and Team TLC NYC.

The Arrivals is a powerful documentary about asylum seekers sent to NYC from Texas in 2022. It follows three volunteer-led groups—led by Adama Bah, Ilze Thielmann, and Power Malu—who provide food, clothing, legal services, and a sense of security to people seeking a better life. The film highlights the power of human kindness and serves as a reminder that, in this country, we are all immigrants, interconnected in our shared humanity.

Demand the Immediate Release of Palestinian Student Activist Mahmoud Khalil from DHS detention

Note: If you are not a U.S. citizen, please do not provide your real name in the “First Name” and “Last Name” fields for your security.

On the evening of March 8, 2025, Columbia University student activist Mahmoud Khalil was detained by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). His arrest follows the Department of State’s announcement of plans to deport students affiliated with pro-Palestine protests.

Khalil, a Palestinian and a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., has been a repeated target of Zionist harassment campaigns, fueled by doxxing websites like Canary Mission. Like many other Arab and Muslim students, he has faced racist targeting designed to instill fear in pro-Palestine activists and serve as a warning to others.

Listen to Rev. Thorne’s statement supporting Mahmoud Khalil’s release

Add your name to demand:

  • The immediate release of Palestinian student activist Mahmoud Khalil from DHS detention.
  • reversal of Columbia University’s protocol permitting ICE on campus without a warrant.

Protect our courts

It is a good reminder that Civil Arrests (ICE Arrests) are barred from our court system without a judicial warrant. While many immigrants are feeling worried to go to court, it’s good to review protections. The documented article below is a great place to start.

Urgent Appeal to help us provide 40,000+ Ramadan Meals for Asylum Seekers in NYC

With Ramadan happening now, we urgently request your support. This Ramadan, thousands of asylum seekers in New York City are observing the holy month while facing food insecurity. Many come from West & North Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Turkey, and other regions, struggling to find halal, culturally appropriate meals for Suhoor and Iftar.

With limited resources, mosques and community spaces cannot meet the growing need. Many go without a meal at dawn or sunset. Your support changes that. Help us provide over 40,000 meals so none of our brothers and sisters are left hungry this Ramadan.
