FINANCIAL GIVING
Imagine the Impossible Annual Giving Campaign
Your generosity fuels Riverside’s worship services, faith formation, justice ministries, and social services. Every dollar directly supports programs that uplift youth, families, and individuals in need. Through the Sharing Fund, The Riverside Church pledges 10% of its annual giving campaign to support projects outside the church that are in alignment with the church’s mission. Local, national and international organizations can request grants of up to $5,000, so the more you give, the more we can give. Learn more about the Imagine the Impossible campaign.
Give the Gift of Hope This Advent Season
During Advent, we enter a season of hopeful waiting. And while we wait, we can choose to bring light into the world through generosity and compassion. When we share a Gift of Hope, we reflect the love that transforms lives and strengthens our community. Sponsor a coat for a neighbor, a toy for a child, or a gift for an older adult so they know they’re not alone.
Holiday Flowers/Poinsettia Pins
This Advent season, honor your loved ones by giving a gift of $60 to have their names included in the Christmas Eve bulletins for the 4 PM and 7 PM services and receive a beautiful hard enamel poinsettia pin as a lasting symbol of your thoughtful tribute. The Giving Machine at Riverside
The Riverside Church in the City of New York is honored to participate in the global Light the World Giving Machine initiative, joining only three other sites across New York City in hosting this unique expression of generosity during the Advent season. The Giving Machines allow individuals to purchase charitable items—from meals to medical supplies to educational support—for neighbors in need, with all donations going directly to vetted nonprofit organizations, including The Riverside Church, serving communities locally and globally. The machine will debut at a global launch event in Times Square on December 1 at 11:00 am and will be installed at The Riverside Church on Giving Tuesday, December 2, where it will remain through the new year.
SUPPORT RIVERSIDE PROGRAMS
Buy a Ticket for the Candlelight Service & Dinner
Support Riverside’s ministries and enjoy a beautiful, uplifting experience by purchasing a ticket for our annual Candlelight Service. Add on a ticket for the Candlelight Dinner, where donations from dinner ticket proceeds will directly support the Riverside Social Services programs. Enjoy a festive evening of worship, music, delicious food and fellowship, knowing that your contribution is helping someone in need. Presale tickets are available through December 1st.
Riverside Food Pantry
For nearly 40 years, the Riverside Food Pantry has served meals and provided groceries to our West Harlem and Morningside Heights neighbors. Non-perishable food items are accepted daily (except when the church is closed), and monetary donations are always welcome. Learn more about the Food Pantry.
Maranatha and African Fellowship Ministry Toy & Book Drive
This holiday season, let’s come together to ensure the children of our food pantry receive a special gift! Riverside Church is hosting its annual toy and book drive from November 22nd to December 15th, and we invite you to donate a new toy and/or book. Your generous contribution can bring joy and make a lasting impact in a child’s life. Learn more about the toy drive.
First Sunday Food Collection
Support the Riverside Food Pantry by bringing canned goods and other non-perishable items to church on the first Sunday of each month. Donations can be left in the narthex, nave, or at the security desk.
Annual Coat Drive
Ensure our neighbors stay warm this winter by donating coats and jackets through December 31. Every contribution makes a difference! Learn how to donate here.
Clothing Distribution Closet
Riverside’s Clothing Distribution Closet provides essentials like clothing, footwear, professional attire, and bedding to those in need. Donations are accepted year-round—no appointment needed.
