Being There: A Study of the Life of Jesus

This class will discuss selected events in the life of Jesus, core to Christian theology. For each session, short Gospel readings will provide the essential narratives. But to “Be There” we will need to understand the life and times of first century Palestine where Jesus lived. Each session will begin with prayer and then the class will read the Biblical narrative and try to visualize what it would be like “being there” with Jesus. Emphasis will be placed on building a bridge from “being there” with Jesus to “being here” at The Riverside Church in today’s context.
