Welcome from the Senior Minister Search Committee
Dear Riverside Church Family,
We greet you in the marvelous name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
At a special meeting held on Sunday, March 14, 2021, a quorum of members of our church voted to approve the full slate of candidates nominated by the congregation and presented by the Senior Minister Committee to serve on the Senior Minister Search Committee.
Having now been entrusted with the responsibility of prayerfully selecting a pastoral candidate for your approval, we, the members of the Senior Minister Search Committee, have begun our work. We have joyfully embraced this awesome task, standing on Proverbs 16:9 and seeking guidance from the Holy Spirit. It seems fitting that our first meeting on Tuesday, March 30, occurred during Holy Week, which inspired us to reflect on Jesus’ servant leadership as he washed the feet of his disciples.
Over the course of the next few months, we will begin to introduce ourselves both collectively and individually. We will share details of our process as it takes shape, including and especially the practice of active listening to the members of our faith community. We are committed to learning from you in new and profound ways. We are devoted to maintaining the integrity of the pastoral selection process, respecting the voices and values of the whole community we serve.
We look forward to maintaining an active dialog with our many congregants, ministries, groups, clubs, partners, and friends knowing we can fully depend on Riversiders’ candid feedback about who we are, who we have been called to be, and how we might be guided to our next spiritual leader. So please do stay tuned for our ongoing outreach. Your curiosity, mindfulness and connectivity will be the treasure you bring to this process.
Thank you for your prayers. Thank you for the confidence you’ve placed with us. Thank you for your partnership as we embark on this journey together!
Many Blessings,
Alexa, Andrea, Annie, Beth, David, Emily, Hylda, Karissa, Lee, Lisa, and Mark
