For the first time since returning from the pandemic, The Riverside Church is offering a fully virtual New Member Class experience designed especially for those who worship with us online, live outside New York City, or have long desired to become a member from afar.

Whether you are across the country, around the world, or simply need the flexibility of joining remotely, this summer session offers a warm and meaningful pathway into the life of Riverside.

Frequently Asked Question: Can I really become a member online?
Yes. This summer class is intentionally designed for those joining remotely or from long distance. Membership, Care & Parish Life will guide you through the full membership process.

Participants must attend all three sessions to be eligible for membership and Joining Sunday.

HOW Do I Become a Member?

The Riverside Church offers Membership Classes throughout the year, facilitated by the Office of Membership, Care & Parish Life. These engaging sessions are designed to help prospective members:

• Explore Riverside’s mission and values
• Learn about our rich history and prophetic witness
• Discover ministries, programs, and ways to get involved
• Understand what it means to be part of a congregation-led church
• Discern whether God is calling you to make Riverside your spiritual home

Classes are offered both in-person and virtually, making membership accessible whether you live in New York City or anywhere in the world.

Following the class experience, participants are invited to join the church on Joining Sunday, where you publicly profess your faith in Jesus Christ and are warmly welcomed into the Riverside family.

Every new member brings unique gifts, perspectives, and purpose. We would be honored to walk alongside you in faith and welcome you into this community.
