Lift Every Voice and Vote

Why are certain citizens denied the right to vote? And why do others choose not to vote? Join us on Sunday, June 14 for Lift Every Voice and Vote, a forum that will examine how voter suppression threatens our ability to freely elect our leaders and our constitutional right to vote.

Hon. Stacey Abrams and U.S. Rep. Jeffries will share their unique perspectives on the promise of the Voting Rights Act and the subsequent national and state rulings that have given rise to voter suppression. A provocative panel discussion with Kristen Clarke and Maria Teresa Kumar moderated by Ray Suarez will explore the resulting impact on access to voting, particularly in communities of color, and the issue of voting safety in the age of COVID-19.  Join us to learn how you can take action to engage voters and ensure free, fair, and safe elections. You’re in for a treat with the uplifting musical performances of Abena Koomson-Davis and the Resistance Revival Chorus, and Matthew Whitaker!

This event is produced in partnership with Justice Aid, an organization who uses music and public forums to promote justice causes.
