Sunday Morning Worship
Twenty-Fourth Sunday After Pentecost
November 8, 2026
11:00 AM
Preacher: Rev. Adriene Thorne

An event every week that begins at 9:00 am on Sunday, repeating until December 20, 2026

The Seekers is a study group exploring ways to understand the divine through books and videos by progressive theologians. Carl Jung noted that as religious people move beyond childhood, they may struggle with the image of God “up there” in heaven. This class explores different ways of understanding the divine that may resonate more deeply with those who have moved beyond the God image of our younger selves.
Our Current Book
We are reading Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmerer, a botanist and member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation.
Blending Indigenous wisdom, scientific knowledge, and personal reflection, Kimmerer explores our relationship with the natural world and the lessons plants can teach us about reciprocity, gratitude, and our responsibility to the earth.
