The earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters. (Genesis 1:2)
71% of the earth is covered in water.
So God created the great sea monsters and every living creature that moves, of every kind, with which the waters swarm, And God saw that it was good. (Genesis 1:21)
Every year, more people die from unsafe water than from all forms of violence, including war.
Save me, O God, for the waters have come up to my neck. (Psalm 69:1)
Approximately 40% of the lakes in America are too polluted for fishing, aquatic life, or swimming.”

About 10% of America’s beaches fail to meet the federal benchmark for what constitutes safe swimming water.
