Protest!

Last week, we joined Greenfaith to welcome Climate activists from the Gulf South and Global South who were in NYC for an entire week of action with powerful leaders from the Gulf South and Global South. They challenged the billionaires who are financing the destruction of our planet and the ICE attacks on our communities.
This week Greenfaith and Climate Defenders are inviting us to TWO powerful actions happening on Friday and Saturday morning:
Call for an end to the kidnappings, detainment, and illegal human rights violations at 26 Federal Plaza this Friday:
Thousands of New Yorkers have been kidnapped by ICE and are being detained on the 10th floor of 26 Federal Plaza. We are taking action to demand access to the 10th floor and that all the detainees, our neighbors, are released. On Friday August 8th, meet us at 9am at City Hall Park (Broadway and Chambers), wear white and bring flowers.

Trump is not only attacking our city with masked ICE agents, he also wants to force the build out of a fracked gas pipeline through the Rockaways. We are demanding that Hochul stand up to Trump and reject the pipelines. On Saturday August 9th, meet us at 10am at City Hall Park (popular spot this week!) for a mass march against the Williams NESE pipeline.
Can’t march? Submit a comment to the State of New York to reject the pipeline:

There are so many ways to participate in Advocacy for long term systemic change. One of the most powerful ways is in the signing of petitions, or writing to your representatives to push policy change. As well as the petition and submission for comments above, check out this request from NY Renews:
NY Renews is fighting to have communities most affected by harmful environmental impacts at the forefront of decisions about land use and environmental permitting in their neighborhoods:
