In this powerful book, Palestinian Christian pastor and theologian Munther Isaac challenges mainstream Christians’ uncritical support for the modern State of Israel. He argues that Israel’s actions toward Palestinians are not new, but rather the continuation of a colonial project rooted in the nineteenth century—one that has created systems of discrimination and segregation more severe than South African apartheid.

Writing from Bethlehem and grounded in a commitment to nonviolence and just peace, Isaac calls on Christians to reexamine their theological assumptions, repent of complicity in oppression, and realign with Christ—found not with the perpetrators of violence, but with the victims buried beneath the rubble of war.
