Spiritual Retreat

How can our bodies be locations for God’s grace to unfold?
What changes when we view our bodies—and the bodies of others—as bearers of the holy, rather than cutting them off due to difference or vulnerability?
How does Jesus’ understanding and treatment of bodies shape the way we honor and care for marginalized bodies in our communities?

Drawing from stories in Scripture and mining the sacred testimonies found in our own lives, we will explore how the Word becomes flesh and truly dwells among us. Together, we will witness the holiness of embodiment and the sacredness of being.

This retreat will include large group and small group discussions, quiet time for personal reflection, art-making, journaling, and opportunities to move and engage our bodies with intention. We will conclude our time together with a worship service and communion.
