Seekers Book Study

The Seekers is a Sunday morning study group that meets from 9:00–10:30 AM in MLK 232 and online. Together, we explore spirituality through the writings and videos of progressive theologians. As Carl Jung observed, many people of faith eventually find that traditional images of God—like a distant deity “up there” in heaven—no longer reflect their evolving experience. This class offers an open, thoughtful space to engage new and deeper perspectives on the divine—perspectives that speak to those who have moved beyond childhood beliefs and are seeking a more expansive spiritual understanding.

Our next book is The Greatest Prayer by John Dominic Crossan. Here’s what Publishers Weekly says about the book:

“No prayer is better known in the Christian world than the Lord’s Prayer, taught by Jesus to His disciples as they listened to Him preach about the Kingdom of God. Crossan, co-founder of the Jesus Seminar and acclaimed author of many works on the life and mission of Jesus Christ, writes to answer the question: ‘How can we who live today hear the words of the Lord’s Prayer in ways that reflect the concerns of His immediate hearers and impact our lives 2,000 years later?’
