This Advent season we find ourselves at the edge; at the edge of pandemic, at the edge of a cultural shift, at the edge of global suffering, and the edge of big changes. But Jesus was born at the edge of hope, in the margins, far from the center where the powerful take residence. Jesus knows what it is like to be at the edge of hope, peace, love, and joy.

May we find hope, peace, love, and joy at the edge this Advent season.

Advent Sunrise Services

Join the Riverside Church community for Sunrise Advent Prayer and Fasting Zoom Services. We will fast together from sunrise to sunset each Friday in Advent as a church community. As we begin our fast all are invited to meet on Zoom at sunrise each Friday in Advent and spend a brief period together in prayer. The goal of fasting is to draw nearer to God. Biblical fasting always has to do with eliminating distractions for a spiritual purpose; it hits the reset button of our soul and renews us from the inside out. It also enables us to celebrate the goodness and mercy of God.
