2023 Millennial Scholarship Application

The Riverside Church Millennial Scholarship Program offers youth involved in the ministry programs of the church scholarships to accredited colleges, universities and vocational programs. Annually the congregation gives several scholarships to eligible youth. These scholarships can be dispersed out over the course of one or four academic years. Since its inception the Millennial Scholarship program has dispersed more than $400,000 to youth involved in our ministry programs.

The 2023 Millennial Scholarship Application is now open. The deadline for all application is Friday, April 1st.

The Carl A. Fields Scholarship Award

$15,000 College Scholarship

This award is a testament to Dr. Carl A. Fields Sr., who was known for his untiring dedication to youth, education, building bridges between communities and a considerable commitment to the lay leadership of the Riverside Church. Dr. Fields was one of the first African-American Deans of Princeton University and was one of the founding members of the Rites of Passage Program at The Riverside Church.

The Millicent Wiley Award

$10,000 College Scholarship

This award is a testament to Millicent Wiley who was a member of The Riverside Church congregation. In her lifetime, she had a commitment to the education of youth both here in New York and in New Jersey. Her legacy of hope is honored in the award.

 

The Daniels-Lorick Award

$5,000 College Scholarship

This award is a continuation of the history of scholarship support begun in the 1960’s after the death of The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., by the Black Christian Fellowship of The Riverside Church. This award is a testimony to their efforts to provide support for youth going to college.
