May 6: Poor People’s Campaign Orientation and Training
Join us for a meeting and training about the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival. Learn about the story, structure, and vision of the campaign, and how you can take part. The second portion of the meeting will be a training in Nonviolent Moral Fusion Direct Action, for those who intend to participate in the 40 Days of Action.
50 years after Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King’s assassination, The Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival is taking up his vision, bringing together people across the country who are organizing to build a broad and deep national moral movement — led by the poor, impacted, clergy and moral agents and reflecting the great moral teachings — to unite our country from the bottom up. They are challenging four interconnected evils of systemic racism, poverty, militarism, and ecological destruction. In the Spring of 2018, the Campaign will launch with 40 days of moral actions, from May 13th until June 21st, in at over 30 states and Washington D.C.
