At The Riverside Church we imagine legacy gifts as gifts we “send ahead.” We believe that legacy gifts are created throughout our lives as we build stories, relationships, and ways to inspire and encourage future generations. At the end of our lives, we send these gifts ahead, knowing that God will bless and use them for the good of our faith community and world.

“to send with a commission”

Then Jesus came to them and said,

“All authority on heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirt, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
(Matthew 28:18-20)

In The Great Commission Jesus sent his disciples into the world to share the good news.

He sent them ahead,
and this was his legacy.

Types of Legacy Gifts

Legacy gifts come in all shapes and sizes, and anyone can create one. Here are a few examples of gifts that provide for you, your loved one, and The Riverside Church.

Bequests are gifts of money, stock, or property created as part of a will or living trust.

Life insurance policies and retirement accounts may name The Riverside Church as a beneficiary.

Trusts and annuities balance your desire to maintain financial security in retirement, contribute to The Riverside Church, and benefit your family members.
