Sunday Morning Worship
Fifth Sunday of Easter
May 18, 2025
11:00 AM
Preacher: Rev. Dr. Andrea White
If you’ve been part of Faith and Justice for a while, chances are you’ve been touched by the work of Cláudio Carvalhaes—especially his powerful book Liturgies from Below, one of our most frequently used sources for liturgical inspiration alongside voices like Cole Arthur Riley and Howard Thurman.
On Tuesday, April 29 at 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM ET, join us in person at The Riverside Church in the City of New York, or online, for a special event exploring the role of worship and liturgy in the pursuit of justice. Together, we’ll ask: How can we imagine, prepare, and participate liturgically in ways that embody our deepest hopes?
Cláudio Carvalhaes will lead us in this probing conversation on the work of liturgy in preaching justice, followed by a dialogue with Sophie Callahan.
