WAJCHA MEETS PACHAMAMA!

In his 2023 Climate Action Report, United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guitterres says that climate change is affecting every region of the Earth. He reports that it is occurring at a pace that, unless reversed, its damage may could soon be irreversible. He underscores that human beings can reverse the current trends, but it will involve changes in behavior. Moved by that reality, Union Theology Seminary Professor Dr. Claudio Carvalhaes wrote the play, “When Wajcha Meets Pachamama” to emphasize the point. The play says it in a highly entertaining and brilliant manner. As a result, it won the award for Most Creative Production at the New York Theater Festival and was nominated for Best Choreography.

Excited by that development, the Riverside’s Beloved Earth Community and The Book Club are partnering to invite Dr. Claudio Carvalhaes and his director Luis Louis to discuss the play at the Book Club’s monthly event, on January 13, 2024, between 11:00 A.M and 12:30 PM via ZOOM.

Then again, between February 1-3, the Book Club and Beloved Earth Community are planning to jointly attend the second run of the play at Union Theological Seminary.
