Juneteenth 2021: Get Us Free

June 19, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

A Weekend of Juneteenth Celebration, Recognition, and Education

On Juneteenth, Middle Church and The Riverside Church have partnered for a multicultural, Black-led celebration and fundraiser, produced by Charles Randolph-Wright and Shanta Thake. Join in-person, or stream virtually, for an evening showcasing a rare LIVE performance by Stephanie Mills who will debut her new single, “Let’s Do the Right Thing.” This ticketed event will be hosted by Rev. Dr. Jacqui Lewis and Rev. Michael Livingston with more talented performing artists including Loretta Devine; Kamilah Forbes; Martha Redbone; Tituss Burgess; Celisse Henderson; Kaliswa Brewster, an ensemble of Riverside Church & Middle Church choirs, spoken word, dance and jazz! Come in-person or watch from home to celebrate a stunning night of fierce resilience. Proceeds from the event will continue to power Black wellness programming at both institutions, as well as support in Middle rising from its devastating fire in 2020.

5:00-6:00 p.m. ET – Cocktail Reception (In-person at Riverside)

6:00-7:15 p.m. ET Showtime (In-person & Virtual Stream)

Purchase Tickets to Watch Virtual Stream or Attend Live

The ticket options are many as we explore the new phases of vaccinated social interaction: You can come to our Juneteenth evening event, the lab, or both. Tickets are priced as packages and a la carte. A limited number of in-person tickets are available to attend the Saturday evening event LIVE at Riverside, including a special cocktail hour before the show. All ticket holders get to watch a special virtual Teach-In anti-racism lab and workshop with Rev. Dr. Jacqui Lewis in conversation with Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Professor Annette Gordon-Reed, author of On Juneteenth, on Sunday, June 20 at 1:00 p.m. ET.
