June 16, 2022 @ 7:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 7:00 pm on Thursday, happening 5 times

Howard Thurman (1899-1981) was a minister, chaplain, activist and author, unknown to some Americans, but a theologian whose words nourished and influenced such figures as Martin Luther King, Jr. and Alice Walker. Over four weeks in June via Zoom, we will read and discuss excerpts from his writings revealing Thurman the mystic, community builder, prophet and nonviolent activist, and environmentalist. Rev. Dr. Alan Bentz-Letts is the facilitator.
