Candidates’ Forum (2022 Lay Leadership Elections)

Join the Nominating Committee and the congregants running for Lay Leadership for our annual Candidates’ Forum. You will hear from the candidates running for Church Council and will have the opportunity to meet candidates running for other commissions and committees as well.

The individuals listed below are presenting themselves for election to lay leadership in The Riverside Church. Lay leaders at Riverside Church are able to serve for two consecutive terms on a single body, adding up to no more than six consecutive years. The individuals listed below are grouped as “second-termers” and “first-termers.” Candidates are considered “first term” even if they have previously served on the body they are running for, so long as they have taken a break from that body for at least two years.

Candidates for lay leadership who sought to stand for a second term in the same body were exempted from the full nominating committee discernment process.

Candidates for lay leadership who sought to stand for a first term were fully reviewed by the nominating committee to discern their qualities and where they would be most needed in the church. The first term candidates listed below are endorsed by the nominating committee for lay leadership in the church.
