This class delves into Riverside’s rich history and archival materials in honor of its 90th Anniversary. It discusses key points throughout the past 90 years, with each class centered around a specific theme. This course will utilize archival materials to tell Riverside’s story and bring its history to life, with emphasis on key materials for deeper examination and discussion. We’ll explore themes such as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Civil Rights at Riverside, Rev. Dr. Harry Emerson Fosdick, and John D. Rockefeller, Jr., the Maranatha and LGBTQ history at Riverside, Riverside’s radio station WRVR, William Sloane Coffin and the Disarmament Program, and more!
